Week 2: Defining the Uncommon Dream that Energizes You

Day Eight (1/14/18): Introduction to the Uncommon Dream

Last week, we discussed that in order to see increase in our lives, we have to know who the true source of increase is: our mighty God! However, there is still more that we must do in order to see development in different areas of our lives. One of those things is that we must identify the God-given dreams inside of us!

We are all created differently and have different passions, which is an absolutely beautiful and exciting thing. When we take the time to learn about and examine ourselves, God begins to help us understand why we have the dreams and goals that we do. He gives them purpose and shows us how those dreams can further his kingdom.

We are driven and energized by the dreams that burn inside of us. We feel that way for a reason. God would not instill these passions in us without providing the tools we need in order to bring them to life. One hundred percent of the time, we actually need these tools to most effectively change our dreams to a reality. The dreams God gives us are bigger than we are. If our God-given dreams were so close and easily attainable that we could reach out and grab them on our own, they would not require any faith. Dreams that require little sacrifice, risk, and trust give God no room to show his power.

God desires to supernaturally pave the roads that lead to our God-sized goals. One way that he does this is by financing our dreams! The best part is that it’s not just about us. God finances our dreams in order that we might display his glory to the world. We become living, breathing examples of how God can provide when we align our dreams with his. Our testimonies are proof that trusting in The Lord truly does bring us the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4).
 

If there is a dream burning inside of you, it should become the driving force that propels you. What uncommon dreams has God given to you? Maybe it’s a dream that has slipped away from you over time because it seemed unattainable. Maybe it’s brand new and the revelation of that dream is starting to scare you! Think about your dreams today--the ones that the world may call you crazy for having. Step out in faith and ask God to start paving the road for you. He has all the resources you need, all you have to do is take the first step!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV)
