50 Days to More: Day Fourteen

50 Days to More

A Seven Week Campaign to Begin 2018

Week 2: Defining the Uncommon Dream that Energizes You

Day Seven (1/20/18): The Uncommon Dream and Uncommon Reward
Recommended Reading: Ephesians 1:3-14

The uncommon dream will bring uncommon rewards in our lives. Ask yourself these three questions to determine if you are set up for an uncommon reward in your life:

1. Are you a dreamer?

Our world is shaped by dreamers. People who become obsessed with something bigger, greater, and beyond themselves make it their life’s mission to change the world with their dreams. Think about Martin Luther King, Jr. who had some of the biggest dreams that led the civil rights movement. There was Henry Ford, who dreamt up a new way of manufacturing automobiles; he made them affordable for every American. The legendary Paul McCartney created music that changed lives...music that occasionally came to him in his dreams.

Dreamers are world changers, and God calls us to take part in that. We may never reach thousands of people the way the dreamers mentioned above did. But if we are truly fulfilling God’s calling in our lives and chasing his dreams for us, we will reach the right people.

2. Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus?

Throughout this week we’ve talked about the fact that we can never be truly successful if our dreams don’t have God’s hand in them. Jesus came to this earth as a living sacrifice and paved the road that allows us to be connected to God.

“Now all of us can come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Christ has done for us.” Ephesians 2:18 (NLT)

When we have a personal relationship with Jesus, we are able to be in tune with what The Lord wants for our lives. As we listen to and obey him, God blesses us and helps turn our dreams into a reality.

3. Do you have a dream?

Although we do all have dreams, it can take time to figure out exactly what they are. If you don’t have a dream, you can have one birthed inside you by the Holy Spirit! Work diligently in cultivating a relationship with the Holy Spirit. He will begin to spark a passion in you, reveal things to you, and lead you to a new and beautiful future. Like all relationships in life, a relationship with the Holy Spirit takes time to grow. If we pursue him wholeheartedly, God will begin to reveal his destiny for us!

If your dream has died, believe God for a resurrection! As we said earlier this week, it is never too late to breathe life into old dreams. It’s never too late to begin to work toward them.

Today, be encouraged to pursue a deeper relationship with God. He has incredible things that he wants to show you and plans for your life that will blow you away! Allow him to give you dreams, then allow him to show you what to do with them. Working to fulfill our God-given dreams is just one of the exciting ways that we can see increase in our lives in 2018!

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13 (ESV)
