50 Days to More: Day Thirteen

50 Days to More

A Seven Week Campaign to Begin 2018

Week 2: Defining the Uncommon Dream that Energizes You

Day Thirteen (1/19/18): The Uncommon Dream and Supernatural Intervention
Recommended Reading: Genesis 41:37-44

Our dreams were designed by God and given specifically to us for a specific purpose. Because of that, we can’t just reach them on our own. Our dreams require miracles. God is the creator of miracles, and he requires our faith and obedience to perform them. Miracles don’t go where they’re needed, they go where they’re honored and expected. God birthed an uncommon dream in each of us, and we have to believe that he will do whatever he can to make it happen. As we said last week, God’s only pleasure is to be believed, and his only pain is to be doubted.

It’s important to recognize the different types of “belief” that exist when it comes to Jesus Christ. Simply believing in Jesus (like a child might believe in Santa Claus) does not have much meaning. James 2:19 says that even the demons believe in Jesus and they shudder! It’s not enough just to believe that Jesus exists.

Believing on Jesus is what saves us: “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16:31 KJV). This type of believing is miracle producing faith!

And finally, there is simply believing Jesus. “Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’” (Mark 9:23 NKJV). Believing what Jesus says and who He is the key to trusting that He will bring our uncommon dream to life.

Pharaoh has a dream that no one can interpret except Joseph. In our recommended reading for the day, Pharaoh promoted Joseph to Prime Minister of Egypt! In time, there was a terrible drought that caused Joseph’s brothers to go to Egypt for food. They ended up having to beg Joseph for food--the brother who they hated, ridiculed, and refused to believe. This event fulfilled the dream that was birthed in Joseph’s heart decades before. He dreamt that his brothers would bow down to him. He dreamt they would come to him to get what they needed. Decades passed before his dream became a reality, but it was in The Lord’s perfect timing.

Pharaoh gave Joseph everything he needed in order to fulfill his dream. He financed Joseph’s dream. Pharaoh may not have necessarily liked Joseph, but God used him as a tool in Joseph’s life.

All we need is people who will embrace the dreams God has put in us, sow into them, and help make them a reality. God can make this happen under strange circumstances using strange people. He promises to intervene in our lives and do whatever he has to do to bring us to our destiny.

Today, be encouraged to pray for supernatural intervention in your life. Believe God is who he says he is, and trust that he will always make a way. As God starts to open the doors to your dreams, you can also pray that he would use you to help other people’s dreams come true. The best part about having God intervene in our lives is that we have the opportunity to intervene in other people’s lives!

“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.” Philippians 2:13 (NLT)
