50 Days to More: Day Twenty-One

50 Days to More

A Seven Week Campaign to Begin 2018

Week 3: Determining to Whom You Have Been Assigned

Day Twenty-One (1/27/18): Your Participation in Your Assignment
Recommended Reading: Mark 16:14-20

Let’s use our imaginations a little bit today! Imagine Jesus entering into heaven, after having ascended from earth. He had already lived his life on earth, died on the cross, defeated death, rose again, and now was returning to his heavenly home. What would it have been like to be an angel greeting Jesus as he entered again into heaven? Now, we don’t necessarily know all the details, but what did the angels know about his time on earth? Most likely they were full of questions and wanted to hear all about it!

He would begin to tell them about all how he fulfilled His assignment. He fulfilled the very mission the Father gave him to complete on the earth. (John 19:30)

Jesus would begin to tell the angels all about his ministry: how he performed many miracles, preached and taught the Father’s heart everywhere he went, mentored 12 disciples, and much more. Then he would tell them about the opposition he faced. He would tell them of the attacks from the religious leaders, the betrayal from one of his own disciples, and the horror of the crucifixion. Then finally, they would celebrate with him his victory over death at the resurrection!

Next, Jesus would tell the angels about how he left His message in the hands of the 12 disciples, in the hands of men, to build His church and share the Gospel. This was his last act on earth before ascending into the heavens. Remember, you’re imagining being an angel hearing this for the very first time. Many would have reacted in that moment by asking Jesus, “But how can we trust people to share the message of salvation? What if they mess up – you know how weak men are?! Certainly you have a ‘Plan B’, right?”

Jesus would then reply, “There is no other option. There is no ‘Plan B’. I am counting on them to share my message with the rest of the world, no matter the cost.”

As we have been reading and studying all week long, God the Father has created you for a purpose! There is an assignment on the earth that he has created for you to fulfill, and you must discover it. If you don’t fulfill your God-given assignment, there is no ‘Plan B’! There is no one else on the earth that God has created who can fulfill that assignment like you can! No one else possesses your same passions, talents, experiences, and anointing for that mission. You are the only one God has anointed to fulfill your specific assignment! Thus, your assignment requires your complete participation.

Don’t let anything hinder your assignment! No opposition--no devil in hell--could stop Jesus from fulfilling his. And we have his same power living on the inside of us!

If you are still searching for your assignment, seek the Holy Spirit and ask him questions relentlessly! He will answer you when you ask! (Jeremiah 29:12-13)

“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter in to the joy of your master.’” Matthew 25:21 (ESV)
